Ariana Grande Named Face of Givenchy; Audrey Hepburn’s Son Criticizes Grande’s Team for Unoriginality

Ariana Grande has been named the new face of Givenchy, in a move fans have dubbed #Arivenchy. “I love this clothing and the confidence and joy it brings to the people wearing it,” Grande said in a statement. “Not only is the clothing timeless and beautiful, but I’m proud to work with a brand that makes people feel celebrated for who they are, and unapologetic about whatever they want to be.” The French fashion house teased Grande’s new role with a video that featured the pop star wearing an elegant black dress and pearl headband, along with her usual swinging ponytail. The fall/winter Givenchy line with Grande is due to be released in July.

In the Givenchy unveiling, Grande’s black dress and pearl headband invoked another of the fashion house’s muses, Breakfast at Tiffany’s actress Audrey Hepburn. The similarities weren’t lost on Hepburn’s son, Sean, who tells TMZ he’s okay with the homage and tribute. However, he also says he would’ve given Grande’s team the boot over the creative direction, since he thinks they should’ve branched out and crafted a more unique image for the pop star. Of course, Grande is also a huge fan of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and even has a tattoo of the movie phrase “mille tendresse” (“a thousand tendernesses” in French) on her neck
