MTV announced Thursday that Kendrick Lamar has been added to the performance lineup for this year’s Video Music Awards. The “Humble” rapper, who leads the field of nominees with eight nods, joins a star-studded roster that also features Miley Cyrus, The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, Fifth Harmony, Lorde, and Thirty Seconds to Mars, as well as the show’s host Katy Perry. Lamar previously performed alongside 2 Chainz, Miley Cyrus, and Robin Thicke during the now-infamous opening number at the 2013 ceremony. The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from The Forum on Sunday, August 27 at 8 p.m.
